The High Fiber Cookbook - Eat Healthier and Wiser
All of us know we must eat smarter and healthier and yet, we so often eat junk food and crap, but why? Sometimes it is about taste, they want to eat what tastes good. Sometimes it is about cost and the bad stuff we eat unfortunately is less costly. For instance a 2lb package of Duplex Cookies is only $1.99 while a single bell pepper can sometimes cost that much.
Still, it is up to us to get over these excuses, after all, we are the ones that make the choices. If you eat crap now you will pay more later in health care costs and eventually it could lead to disease or even a shortened life. So why not learn to eat what's right and for the right reasons, learn to cook it yourself. Okay, so enough preaching, let me recommend a very good book to you. A cookbook that has high fiber in mind:
"Slim and Delicious High Fiber Cookbook" by Marjorie Carter. Sweet Water Press. 1994
This book is a chef's delight and perfect for the folks who want to want to cook their own meals and eat fine cuisine while maintaining a steady stream of high fiber foods in their diets. With nearly 25 dishes in all this book will keep your hunger at bay for many moons and you will never get tired of cooking these tasty treats. I recommend the Cocido Dish and the Sauteed Sweet Potatoes with Scallops. Those are two of my favorites. Indeed, nearly every dish looks wonderful and the book is so well illustrated it will make you salivate just paging through it. Go with fiber and cook healthy.
